About Professor

MESSAGE

Welcome to the National Fire Service College (NFSC) — the premier institution under the  Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, entrusted with advancing fire engineering education, professional training, research, and  capacity building in fire and emergency services in the country.

NFSC  is the only institute in India offering the B.Tech. Degree in Fire Engineering. This unique mandate entrusts us with defining academic benchmarks, advancing professional competence   and shaping future-ready fire engineers and fire service leaders for the nation

At NFSC, engineering knowledge is integrated with operational discipline, reflecting the demanding nature of the fire service which requires precision, endurance, courage, and leadership. Through a rigorous academic curriculum, live-fire drills, tactical simulations, and command-oriented training, we develop technically sound and operationally decisive professionals capable of handling complex emergencies. Our graduates serve the evolving needs of organizations in fire safety, fire prevention, and fire protection, contributing as fire protection system designers, fire service leaders, and entrepreneurs in fire engineering and technology.

Beyond degree programme, NFSC conducts specialized professional courses for fire service personnel from States and Union Territories across India. Officers from State fire services, industrial fire services, defence establishments, and public sector undertakings undergo advanced training in fire prevention, fire protection systems, industrial risk management, and incident command systems. Practical attachments with major State Fire Services provide real-time operational exposure, ensuring that learning remains grounded in field realities.

A defining pillar of NFSC is its research and testing capability. With 14 state-of-the-art laboratories and a large-scale fire testing facility, the College generates critical empirical data through scientific experimentation and applied research. This evidence-based knowledge contributes to fire safety standards, regulatory frameworks, and national policy formulation, strengthening industrial safety  the scientific foundation of fire safety governance in the country.

NFSC is also expanding its global engagement through collaborative research, knowledge exchange, and professional training interactions with international institutions and fire professionals. By aligning with global best practices and contributing indigenous research insights, the College is positioning itself within the wider international fire safety community.

The road ahead is clear—to strengthen academic excellence through postgraduate and Ph.D. programmes, expand structured field modules, and advance simulation-driven learning, fire modeling, and AI-enabled applications. We will also promote indigenous innovation in line with the Make in India initiative, deepen research collaborations, and actively support national and global fire safety initiatives.

Guided by our enduring motto, “We Serve To Save,” National Fire Service College remains committed to nurturing disciplined, capable, and mission-oriented fire professionals dedicated to protecting life, property, and the nation’s critical infrastructure.

Jai Hind!
