The National Fire Service College’s FIRE ENGINEERING degree programme represents the Department of Fire Engineering commitment to preparing engineers for the challenges of this rapidly growing field.
The Department of Fire Engineering aims to teach students theories and skills of fire engineering, in order to protect people’s lives and properties from fires, and ultimately to train them into public officials and professionals in fire protection.
The Graduate Certificate in Engineering program is designed to assist engineers and technical professionals in the development of their careers and to provide the expertise needed in the rapidly changing business, government, and industrial environments. Fire engineers are among the most sought-after professionals in the industry. Performance of standard codes and the international trend towards performance-based fire safety analysis and design approaches in all fields have increased demand for fire engineers.
Fire engineering course is available to explore basic processes of fire behavior, prediction of fire development, the combustion of materials and furnishings, the effects of fire on structures and the environment, smoke management, electrical fires, evacuation and tenability analysis and the law.
