NFSC Leadership Addresses Army Fire Fighting Conclave in Nagpur! During Fire Service Week–2026, the Indian Army Headquarters, Uttar Maharashtra & Gujarat Sub Area, Nagpur, organized a Fire Fighting Conclave on 16.04.2026 as part of Military–Civil Fusion initiatives. Dr. A. R. Sontake, Professor & Director, National Fire Service College (NFSC), Nagpur, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India, was the Keynote Speaker at the inaugural session of the conclave. Col. Prag Doval welcomed Dr. Sontake and other dignitaries to the event. Maj. Gen. Natej Singh Sohal felicitated Prof. Sontake on the occasion in recognition of his contributions to fire engineering and professional training. In his keynote address, Prof.Sontake emphasized the critical importance of fire prevention, regular maintenance of fire protection systems, and the need to build a fire safety aware society. He highlighted that proactive measures and awareness are key to minimizing fire risks and ensuring effective emergency response. Dr. Sontake also elaborated on the role of NFSC in capacity building and technical education in the field of fire engineering. He informed that admissions to the B.Tech (Fire Engineering) programme will commence shortly and highlighted the exceptional career opportunities available in the field. NFSC, Nagpur, being the only institution in the country under the Ministry of Home Affairs offering a degree programme in fire engineering, plays a vital role in developing skilled fire safety professionals for the nation. Shri Gagan Upadhya, Assistant Director, NFSC, delivered a session in the conclave. The conclave was also attended h B.Tech (Fire Engineering) students, who actively participated in the technical deliberations.
