Russian Delegation from Siberian Fire and Rescue Academy Visits NFSC Nagpur. A high-level delegation from the Siberian Fire and Rescue Academy visited the National Fire Service College, Nagpur, marking a significant step towards strengthening Indo-Russian cooperation in fire engineering and emergency response. The visit commenced with an opening meeting at the conference hall, where Dr. A. R. Sontake, Director, NFSC, extended a warm welcome to the Head of Delegation, Ivan Sergeev, and his team. In his address, he elaborated on the mandate of NFSC as a premier institution functioning under Director General (FS,CD& HG) , Ministry of Home Affairs, Govt of India, highlighting its role in conducting B.Tech Fire Engineering programmes, research, consultancy, contributing to national policy-making and standards in fire technology and capacity building through professional training for State Fire Services across the country. An overview of NFSC was presented by Dr. Gautam, followed by a detailed presentation on training activities by Prashant Kumar,. Representing the Russian delegation, Andrei Iarovoy delivered an insightful presentation on their academy, covering courses offered, departmental structure, research activities, international collaborations, faculty strength, and advanced fire and rescue simulators. The delegation was later taken on a comprehensive visit to NFSC’s training facilities, including fire stations, appliances, rescue tools, BA set gallery, and the training ground. The practical exposure and range of infrastructure showcased NFSC’s capability in delivering high-quality training and handling diverse fire and rescue scenarios. The delegation also interacted with the demonstration team led by Mr R. Manihar, along with trainees of the SO,STO & DO courses, appreciating their skills, discipline, and operational preparedness.
